Area lakes have produced an impressive number of trophy muskies and consistent numbers of bass, while the nearby Manitowish River provides a unique fly-fishing experience thanks to its large population of trout.

The real secret of the Boulder Junction area would be the many smaller, bog lakes scattered throughout the forests. While it might take some research (or the help of a local guide) to find them, the heavy cabbage weeds in these areas hide surprising numbers of good-sized musky, northern, and bass.
